I've been listening to a lot of chatter between my running "peeps" about the "Running for the Bay" Marathon in Apalachicola, Florida. It's an October marathon, so there's plenty of time for me to get ready. Everyone's talking about BQ'ing. Not so much for me. I've only got one marathon under my belt, and I discovered this distance is not my bread and butter. But I'm thinking about it again. It would be nice to pace with friends. Maybe sub4. Maybe 3:45ish. Maybe I'm full of it. We'll see. I do feel like I'm a smarter, definitely lighter runner than I was 1 1/2 years ago at First Light Marathon. So time will tell. One concern about this particular marathon is the oil spill. Will it reach Apalachicola by October? If the course is over water, how bad will oil fumes be? I can't believe I even have to consider shit like that. Crazy world, man. Crazy.
Peace out.
