Crunch Time

I managed to extract 6.2 miles of quality running from my sorry carcass today. Yesterday's chili experimentation did not adversely affect me as badly as I thought it would. I averaged a mid 8 minute mile, and felt fine throughout.

But now as a new week begins, I'm feeling the Azalea Trail Run loom closer. At this point, I don't know if I can threaten my PR of 46 minutes. I'm running well, but things will have to go extraordinarily well to get under 46. Honestly, I'm thinkin' 47-48 and change.

So the next 2 weeks will be crunch time. Lotsa miles. Some speed workouts. Tune up the food intake some. The last few days will be tapered in order to let my skinny legs get some rest.

And I need new music for my IPod. My old stuff has gotten kinda stale. I heard a song in church today that really inspired me. I mean, I was really moved. At the end of the song, I just wanted to go "Wooooooooo! Rollll Tide!" But I refrained, and just clapped. My wife advised me that was the correct response. I gotta get that song. It could be just what I need for mile 4.
May the farce be with you.
